Working with other regulators

Cogs thumbnailBecause the ASA regulates advertising across all sectors, it is unsurprising that we interact with many other regulators who have responsibility for looking after particular sectors more broadly.

The ASA has two major formal relationships with statutory regulators – Ofcom, our co-regulatory partner for broadcast advertising and the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) which is the body with overall responsibility for protecting consumers in the UK.

We liaise with other regulators, as appropriate, to ensure that regulation is joined-up.
