Communications and Policy Assistant (Ref: CPA/Jan10)
Salary – circa 23,000 plus benefits

The ASA’s Communications, Policy and Marketing team promotes the work of the advertising self-regulatory system to a wide range of audiences, including the public, the advertising industry, advertisers, government, NGOs and the media. It is also responsible for monitoring and responding to the wider policy developments regarding advertising regulations. A key part of the department’s remit is to support the organisation’s mission of keeping advertising standards high by raising awareness of the Codes and promoting the training and advice services available to the advertising community. 

We are looking for a Communications and Policy Assistant to join our team.  We require a dedicated and cross-disciplined individual who will be comfortable getting involved with both public affairs and public relations work. Your role will be to assist and support the Communications and Policy Unit in their work promoting and defending advertising self-regulation with political and press audiences. The role will involve acting as an information point by monitoring the media and Parliamentary and Government papers for relevant information and advising action and will provide support in the delivery of the ASA’s Public Affairs and Public Relations objectives.
